Reash Comments on Energy and the Environment

Rob was invited to provide an editorial on the interaction of energy sources and environmental impacts.  The editorial was recently published in the journal Integrated Environmental Assessment and Management.  The paper discussed the roots and causes of the politics of energy sources in a world of carbon emission reductions and concerns of global climate change.  The main conclusion was that while it is worthy for developed countries to maximize the implementation and installation of "clean energy" sources and modes, reliable baseload electrical power (as currently supplied by fossil fuels and nuclear power) must be maintained to prevent electrical grid interruptions.
